Ownli vs ClozeEZ: Flat-Fee Platforms Compared (2026)
Ownli (myownli.com) is one of the most genuinely comparable platforms to ClozeEZ anywhere in the country: transaction software, not a brokerage, with a flat fee owed only when your deal closes. Their own framing is "TurboTax for real estate," and their terms say plainly that they are a software platform, not a licensed brokerage, law firm, or title company. Same species as us, and they deserve a fair read.
The differences are price, Arizona, and how much of the transaction the software actually carries.
TL;DR
- Ownli charges one flat fee at closing: $1,999 to sell and $999 to buy, per their Terms of Service (§4.1, as of September 2026). One tier, fully self-serve, no MLS listing option, no photography, title company by referral.
- ClozeEZ charges $200 per side at closing on the free tier. ClozeEZ has one offer: list free, pay at close, with no MLS placement; MLS exposure in Arizona is available separately through a flat-fee broker for a few hundred dollars. It does not add licensed-agent guidance or MLS through a partner agent, professional photography, and calls with a licensed agent.
- Arizona is the deciding factor today: when we searched Phoenix on Ownli's own app in September 2026, it returned zero homes. The same session returned 10,539 in Dallas. Ownli says it operates in 43 states without naming the other seven; whatever Arizona's formal status, there is nothing to buy there right now.

Where Ownli is genuinely strong
Honesty first, because pages that only sell don't get cited. Ownli's buyer-side product is ahead of ours today: roughly half a million MLS listings searchable nationally, buyer contract prep, and buyer-side transaction management in 43 states. Their national contract-form engine, if it works as claimed across 50 states, is real engineering. And their pitch is admirably simple: one price, big savings number, no tiers to study.
If you are buying in Denver, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, or Seattle, their promoted metros, Ownli is a serious tool worth evaluating.
Where the comparison turns
Price, first and plainly. Both platforms bill only at closing, so the numbers compare cleanly: selling costs $1,999 on Ownli and $200 on ClozeEZ. Buying costs $999 there and $200 here. Neither platform includes MLS placement, photography, or a licensed agent; both are software for a seller running the sale directly, and the price difference is the whole comparison.
Arizona, decisively. ClozeEZ is built for one state on purpose: Arizona's contract forms, Arizona's SPDS disclosure flow, the BINSR, escrow-state closing mechanics, and title coordination with Arizona companies. Ownli's Phoenix search returned zero homes when we checked. A platform can't help you sell or buy where it has no market.
How far the software carries you. Ownli's transaction support ends where closing begins: their FAQ says you go through a normal closing and they help you find a title company. ClozeEZ coordinates title in-platform through closing, includes e-signing, and verifies buyers before offers reach sellers. On Ownli's site, e-signing is not mentioned at all; we flag that as unverified rather than absent, but on something that central, silence is worth noticing.
Track record, honestly on both sides. Ownli launched nationally in March 2026 and has no Trustpilot page and no Google review history we could find, just one anonymous homepage testimonial. That is not an accusation, it is what six months old looks like, and newer platforms deserve the same fair shake we ask for. Check both companies' recent reviews when you read this, because this page has a date on it too.
Which should you choose?
Buying outside Arizona in one of Ownli's active metros, with confidence to self-serve an entire purchase: Ownli is a credible option, and its $999 buyer fee still beats a traditional buyer-agent commission by a mile.
Selling anywhere, and especially anything in Arizona: run the math. The same at-close model costs 10x less here, and the platform is built around Arizona's actual paperwork.
